木胎を骨格とし、紙を貼り重ね、その上から天然漆（大漆）を幾度も塗り重ねて仕上げた茶席屏風です。従来の漆器のような光沢はあえて追求せず、表面は静かで反射を抑えた仕上がりとなっています。茶席において過度に存在を主張することなく、器や茶花、掛物と穏やかに調和し、空間に静かな奥行きをもたらします。

木胎の軽やかさ、紙のやわらかな表情、そして天然漆ならではの温もりのある質感が重なり合い、光や時間の移ろいとともに静かな美しさを育んでいきます。

それは空間を仕切るためだけの道具ではなく、茶席に穏やかな境界を生み出し、視線や意識を自然と茶器や一服のお茶へ導く存在です。使い込むほどに漆の風合いは深まり、年月とともに味わいを増していきます。

Built on a wooden core, layered with paper, and finished with multiple coats of natural urushi lacquer, this tea ceremony screen does not seek the high gloss traditionally associated with lacquerware. Instead, its softly matte, low-reflective surface allows it to harmonize quietly with tea utensils, flowers, and hanging scrolls, adding a sense of depth and calm to the tea setting without drawing attention to itself.

The combination of the lightweight wooden core, the soft texture of paper, and the warmth of natural urushi lacquer creates a quiet presence that subtly responds to changing light and the passage of time.

More than a simple screen, it serves as a quiet boundary within the tea space, naturally guiding the eye toward the utensils and the act of preparing tea. With continued use, the urushi gradually develops greater depth and character, reflecting the beauty of time through everyday use.

Each screen is individually handcrafted using natural wood, paper, and natural urushi lacquer.

Natural urushi lacquer will gradually develop a richer color and texture over time through normal use and aging.
