Before the emergence of heat-resistant ceramics, purple clay (zisha) pots were widely used in China for boiling water. Made from a porous material, they provide excellent heat retention and soften water quality. However, due to their fragility, direct heating with strong charcoal fire is not recommended and should only be done by experienced users.

Mr. Jiang Youwei’s zisha water boilers are small, lightweight, and thin-walled, featuring a rustic and natural texture. Their small size allows for quick heating and makes them ideal for use with alcohol lamps or small charcoal burners.
